Pangkor Island
Pulau Pangkor (Pangkor Island), welcomes visitors with its serene golden beaches, blue waters and refreshing breeze. It is located off the shores of Lumut town, about 90km southwest of Ipoh. The 40-acre waterpark brings to life the ancient ruins and grattos of a lost civilisation, almost loke that featured in the Indiana Jones and Raider of the Lost Arc movies. Among the attractions here is its hot spring, which is renowned locally for its therapeutic properties.
Lata Kekabu Waterfall

Located in the district of Lenggong, this waterfall is surrounded by a forest reserve abundant with a diverse range of tropical trees. It is located about 3km from the banks of the Raban Lake, a scenic area with recreational facilities.
Lata Kinjang Waterfall
Cascading 850 feet down the side of a mountain, this multi-tiered waterfall is a spectacular sight. Not only it is a good picnic spot, it is also famous for its legendary Malay character, Sang Kelembai who had lived with her child.
Royal Museum State Park
Towards the north and northwest of Tasik Temenggor lies a vast area of virgin jungle known as Royal Belum State Park. This pristine forest is excellent for trekking, bird watching and animal sighting. However, police permits are needed to get into this area.
Kuala Gula Bird Sanctuary
The Kuala Gula Bird Sanctuary is located in the northern part a mangrove ecosystem. During the migration season between August and April every year, more than 200,000 birds from 50 species stop over here.

Gua Tempurung, stretching over 1.3 km, is believed to have been occupied by human from as early as 8000 BC. The cave is probably the largest natural limestone cave in Peninsular Malaysia. Located in the vicinity of Gopeng, 24km south of Ipoh, the cave is approximately 1.5km long. Made up of five huge domes which ceiling resemble coconut shells, each dome has different formations of stalagmites and stalactites. The domes also differ from one another in term of temperature, water level, content of limestone and marble.
Gua Angin (Wind Cave)
Wind Cave holds a secret that you will simply have to see to believe. Best explored by nights, you enter a cave of pitch darkness and encounter stone stalagtites glittering with crystalites. Wind Cave is not a very deep cave and it is inhabited by bats and swallows.
Matang Mangrove Forest Reserve
The whole area of this forest reserve is internationally renowned as the best managed sustainable mangrove forest in and among the best worldwide.
Bersia Grazing Reserve
An area covering 300 hectares of undulating terrain beside Bersia Lake, this reserve is 15km from Gerik in northern Perak and is known to have many large wild animals.
Kellie's Castle
Kellie's Castle was meant to be a home away from Scottish Planter, William Kellie Smith in the 19th century in Perak. Being far away from home, Kellie desired his new residence to be reminiscent of his home back in Scotland. The castle is perched on top of a hill of what used to be a rubber estate.

The complex pays tribute to warriors such as Dato'Sagor and Dato Maharaja Lela, who led the locals against the force of the British colonial and administration.
Dutch Fort

At Teluk Gedung village, south of Pulau Pangkor, lies the 330-year -old stone foundation of a Dutch Fort build in 1670. It was one of the Dutch strongholds against pirates and local Malays.

Constructed in 1926 on Bukit Chandan, this 'Saracenic Moorish' architectural facets creates a spellbinding sight for onlookers and visitors to the place. Previously known as Istana Kenangan, Istana Tepas and Istana Lembah. The Perak Royal Museum was built as a royal residence in 1926. It is an amazing architecture built without a single nail.

Teluk Intan Leaning Clock Tower
This spectacularleaning clock tower, similar to the world-famous Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy, is the pride of Teluk Intan or formerly known as Teluk Anson. Standing at 25.5m tall, its construction appears comprising eight different levels but the building is actually divided into only three storeys.
Bukit Larut
Located a mere three km from Taiping town, Bukit Larut is Malaysia's oldest and smallest hill resort. Formerly known as Maxwell Hill, it is accessible only by a four-wheel drive vehicle. The road up twists and turns through lush tropical virgin jungle, while the fresh cool air greets you as you ascend.
Taiping Zoo
Located within the Taiping Lake Gardens, it houses both local and exotic wildlife in excellent surroundings, making it popupar spot for family outings. The zoo is probably the oldest in the country.
Kuala Sepetang
At Kuala Sepetang, 15km from Taiping, charcoal is made in this village using wood from mangroves. Sold to countries such as Japan, crushed charcoal is used there under beds to absorb moisture that is believed to cause backpain.
The Perak Man
If history is your passion, then make your way to the Lenggong Archaeological Museum in Kota Tampan and view the Perak Man that is estimated to be 10,000 to 11,000 years old.
Taiping Lake Garden
The oldest and biggest lake garden in the country. It is also reputed to be the most beautiful in Southeast Asia.
Lumut Fishing Village
Lumit is a small fishing town situated about 84km south of Ipoh and is well known for its beautiful shell collections and coral handicrafts. Mainly a fishing village, it is the departure point from the mainland to those wanting to visit Pulau Pangkor (Pangkor Island).
Panglima Lane
This lane in Ipoh was also known as "concubine's lane". In the days before the Japanese occupation, when it was full of gambling houses, opium dens and brothels.
Batu Kurau
Famed for its local fruits especially durians, which are available in abundance during the local fruit season, this area near Taiping also has many beautiful and unspoilt waterfalls at Kampung Perak and Ayer Hitam.
